Our engaging The Roman Empire Lesson Plan explores the rise and fall of the Roman Empire, including the most common historical events and significant contributions of its people.  Engage students in collaborative learning as they pair off and explore a day’s schedule of boys and girls living in the Roman Empire.

Classroom Procedure / Teacher Instruction Sample:

  1. Ask students to define empire.
  2. Allow for responses and discussion. Ask students if they feel there are empires in the world today.
  3. Allow for responses and discussion. Introduce the Roman Empire.
  4. Distribute Roman Empire content pages. Read and review the information with the students. Use the additional resources to enhance understanding.
  5. Distribute Activity page. Read and review the instructions. Pair students, boys w/boys, and girls w/girls, if possible, since a day in their lives will be similar. Allow students sufficient time to complete the day’s schedule. Also, give students access to the Internet to expand the information needed for each event/activity.
